Den Jyske Hingst

Den Jyske Hingst (the Jutland Stallion) is donated by the Federation of the Jutlandish Horse-breeding Society and Randers city. The sculptor Helen Schou has made this impressive monument in bronze. The pedestal is made of stone from the city's old kerbstones. The sculpture is executed according to the classic principles of horse depiction dating back to Leonardo da Vinci. The Jutland Stallion is supposed to remind the spectators of the large horse fairs in town and especially the Jutlandish breed of horses in which the breed had its centre in the neighbourhood of Randers.
